This 3-day, hands-on car detailing training course runs at our fully equipped Detailing Training Academy at our studio in Perth, Scotland. You’ll learn professional valeting and car wash methods, paint correction and ceramic coating, then finish with business and marketing training so you can turn the skills into income.
Complete beginners are welcome, and so are working detailers who want to add paint correction or ceramic coating to their services. Students come to us from Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland and across Europe.
Day 1: Deep cleaning, valeting and car wash training
We start with how to carry out a full, safe and professional wash and valet, inside and out, using the right techniques, tools and products.
- Safe wash methods that avoid swirls and damage
- Decontamination for tar, iron and fallout
- Full interior detail: carpets, upholstery, leather and plastics
- Stain removal, steam cleaning and extraction
- Streak-free glass cleaning
- Product knowledge, and how to use each product properly
Day 2: Paint correction and ceramic coating training
You learn to spot paint defects, correct them safely and protect the finish with long-lasting coatings.
- Understanding paint defects: swirls, marring and holograms
- Inspecting paint and judging what needs correcting
- Dual-action machine polishing, with full hands-on practice
- Choosing the right pads and compounds
- Applying sealants and protective coatings
- An introduction to ceramic coatings, applied to paintwork, glass and alloy wheel faces
Day 3: Live detailing and business and marketing workshop
You detail a live vehicle in a real working setting, then move on to practical business training.

Our studio is in Perth, Scotland, near Edinburgh and Glasgow airports and within walking distance of the train and bus stations. There’s parking on site, including EV charging.

Do I need any experience? No. Day 1 starts with the basics, so complete beginners are welcome.
